Blog – May 2019

Those of you who know me and read my blog would realise I write them very sporadically. Only when I really have something book related to say. This month I was off-the-charts busy. I published my Ebook AN UNHOLY GIFT in April and then feverishly worked to get my print book formatted and completed – mission accomplished – they arrived in May. I’ve been signing and either giving or sending out to everyone who ordered a copy. I’ve also been busy promoting and getting reviews. So far I’ve had some great 4 and 5 star reviews so I’m really ecstatic with that.

As an advertising promo JUSTICE is available for free as an Ebook for a limited time. This is in the hopes that people will read it and want to read the follow up, AN UNHOLY GIFT and purchase it.

I also entered JUSTICE into a competition in the USA with Maine Romance Writers. This was for the cover and blurb. When I became a finalist I asked friends and family to vote, and of course random votes came as well. The good news is that I won first place in the Paranormal/ Sci Fi category. The prize? A certificate and bragging rights haha. And hopefully some interest in the American market. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote for me. Hugsheart

I also ‘spur-of-the-moment’ entered into the FIRST KISS COMPETITION with the Romance Writers of Australia. I became a finalist, but didn’t win! I was a bit gutted of course, but obviously ‘it wasn’t meant to be’. Nevertheless, it’s still a validation that I’m doing something right. The scene I entered was 1,500 words from my current romance book, HAVING FAITH.

Check out my new tab at the top of my website which is called ACCOLADES. It highlights the small accomplishments in my writing career so far. In there I’ve included the excerpt of “The Kiss Scene” which helped me become a finalist. If you would like to read it, it’s a bit of a teaser for my upcoming Hot Contemporary Romance HAVING FAITH which I plan to publish this winter. Enjoy!

There are always so many books on my TBR (to be read) pile that it’s hard to find the time to read them. However, we’ve got a week away in June, heading North to catch a bit of warmth before the really cold winter weather arrives in Perth. I’ll take the opportunity to read. First on my list is UNFORSAKEN by Cassie Laelyn – The good news is, starting May 31st her book is on sale for 0-99 cents for two weeks! Find it wherever good books are sold.

UNTIL NEXT TIME … SO MANY BOOKS. SO LITTLE TIME!
