ROMANCE – MATURE LOVE

A SMALL TOWN FRIENDS TO LOVERS EROTIC ROMANCE

ALL THE dumb THINGS

You know all those wonderful sayings how ‘life dishes out lessons’ and ‘read the signs’ before you act? Yeah well, in matters of love I’ve subconsciously made it my mission in life to ignore all that great advice.

I’m sure the popular song ‘I’ve Done All the Dumb Things’ was written about me. I charge in blindly into relationships, wearing my heart on my sleeve, only to get it broken. Rinse and repeat.

Maybe I was destined to be this way? Or perhaps my mother cursed me when she named me Juliet, after Shakespeare’s tragic star-crossed lover. Either way, as I celebrated my fortieth birthday the penny finally dropped, and I decided to give up on love before it gave up on me.

Only my best friend, Trey, the man I’ve been secretly in love with for almost my entire life, has other ideas.

REVIEWS

S MARSHALL Hugely recommend this incredible, heartfelt tale.
Juliet and Trey leapt out of the story and straight into my heart, and the more I followed the rollercoaster life took them on, the more heavily invested I became in their future as a couple.
Juliet is down to earth and relatable, with a sweet heart crushed one too many times. I felt a connection to her pain that was so real it hurt in my own heart.
Trey is gorgeous, sweet and broken in a way that made me want to smoosh him all better. Though his past has kept him from Juliet for years, the love he hides from himself comes through in everything he does.
Not only did I love reading this book, but when I’d finished, I spent days thinking about the characters and reliving my favourite moments from the story. Emotionally charged with fabulous highs and tear-jerking lows, I thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book.

ALYCE CASWELL – Juliet has had no luck in her pursuit of marriage and family – too bad the prefect guy doesn’t want either of these things. Trey has been one of her “dumb things” before but she just can’t help herself. Will this shot at love burn out like all those other times?
This is a fun and sexy (very sexy!) contemporary romance that will spice up your evening. I enjoyed the flashbacks to Juliet’s “dumb things” because of the tension they brought to the story (flashbacks are so hard to do well). Juliet is a realistic heroine who endears herself to you – she isn’t as vapid as some of the protagonists in the genre. What I like most, however, is the fact that Juliet is 40. She’s realistically portrayed as someone who found success later in life.

CYNTHIA MACLEAN – Hold on tight, because this story grabs hold of you and propels you forward with every page. The characters are believable, and their chemistry is (said with a smile) oh so steamy. It’s real-life, its messes, and it leaves the reader rooting for the characters. Well done!

STEAMY MUST READ SECOND CHANCE LOVE

HAVING FAITH

She’s been someone else’s … now Adam was back to show Faith she’d really been his all along.

 FAITH

When my best friend suggested I take a young, hot, sexy, stud-muffin as my date to meet my ex-husband’s much younger fiancée, I allowed my arm to be ‘twisted.’ Nudging Forty, I felt battered, and my ego bruised – it was just what I needed.

“Who do you have in mind?”

Adam,” Rachel voiced the one name hovering between us since the words, sexy, hot, and young, had been mentioned in the same sentence.

Adam was my friend’s younger half-brother. We’d always been close, and I’d considered him to be a young brother to myself as well. Then something unthinkable happened between us on his eighteenth birthday that drove him away for ten years.

Now he was back, looking so good it should be illegal, and wanting to resume where we had left off. The soul-incinerating chemistry still bound us, but was my self-doubt too big a hurdle to leap?

ADAM

For the longest time, Faith has been perched on the peripheral edges of my heart. Since that fated night all those years ago, I had known she was it for me. I was a boy then, too young and dumb to understand that we were soulmates. But my heart knew it, and never let me forget. I’d tried to move on, I really had. She was married, after all.

So, when my sister asked if I could do Faith a favour and play along as her date to meet her idiot ex-husband and his soon-to-be trophy wife, I knew fate was opening a door for me.

This time, I was no amateur. This time, all I had to do was convince her we were meant to be. Sounds easy, right? Well, you haven’t met Faith…

A beautiful love story.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be the last. Having Faith is a beautiful story of love and understanding. Adam and Faith were ten years apart in age but age meant nothing to him. He just had to convince Faith of that. These are wonderful characters who loved each other but had issues between them from the past. I loved that Faith’s son stood by her and Adam knowing that they loved each other. This is a very realistic story and was wonderfully written.
I cannot wait to read more from this author.
